Never sleep after a rich dinner

If you’re with some relatives who you’re comfortable with, no matter how sleepy you feel after a rich dinner, never crash on the couch. That doesn’t mean you must do a workout or a quick run. Offer to help the host with the dishes, clean up the table, etc. Even this can help you with the bloating!

Another thing you can do if the weather is nice is to take a stroll around the neighborhood. It will help you feel better, for sure.

Treat holiday meals like any other meal

If you want to avoid holiday belly bloat, it is important to treat all the holiday family dinners like any other day of the year. That’s indeed supposed to be special, but that doesn’t mean you have to go overboard to eat more than you can just because it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, the 4th of July, or any other special occasion. Eat often throughout the day, and if you have a food plan, stick to it. Give yourself permission to overindulge in modest amounts of sweets or anything else you choose.
