Don’t save the calories for the dinner party

The second trick to follow if you want to avoid having a holiday belly bloat is not to starve yourself throughout the day thinking that you’ll have a solid dinner and you don’t want to overdo the calories.

To avoid being hungry when you get to the dinner or party, have a large, satisfying breakfast and lunch that includes protein. You should also have a nutritious snack before you leave the house. Since it’s unlikely that you’ll be dining right away, you won’t be as drawn to excessively rich appetizers like cheese and crackers if you’re not starving when you arrive.
