5. Alcohol
As you can see, there are many things that can destroy your liver, but alcohol remains the biggest cause of liver disease and cirrhosis. Statistics say that 10 to 15% of those who consume alcoholic beverages in high quantities, the heavy drinkers, will eventually develop liver scarring.
Unfortunately, there is no treatment that can help you get rid of cirrhosis. The best thing to do is to stop the consumption of alcohol. This is the only way you can manage all of this.
The CDC recommends women never consume more than one alcoholic beverage per day, and in the case of men, the limit is two alcoholic beverages per day.
But how much is an alcoholic beverage, you might ask? Five ounces of wine or 12 ounces of beer represent one alcoholic beverage.
