4. Smoking
Smoking is never good, and it is definitely one of the things that can destroy your liver. Smoking is a factor that, according to some studies led by the Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, can increase your risk of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Toxic substances in cigarette smoke can lead to cirrhosis and, ultimately, inflammation. Additionally, smoking encourages the development of cytokines, which worsen inflammation and harm liver cells.
Also, for people who suffer from hepatitis C and B, smoking can increase your chances of getting liver cancer, the most common being hepatocellular carcinoma. So, the best thing that you can do is to avoid smoking as much as possible.
