5. Sweet cocktails
Next on our list of the worst beverages for your health are sweet cocktails. It should come as no surprise that alcohol consumption can lead to serious health issues, but when it comes to sweet alcoholic cocktails, they are even worse. Not only do they contain alcohol, but they are also filled with high amounts of sugar. Even the non-alcoholic ones can be bad for your health.
Sure, they taste great, but the alcohol in them is absorbed directly into the bloodstream. This makes your blood glucose increase quickly, as though you’re having a liquid candy bar.
When drinking cocktails, stick with the ones that are lower in calories. Also, limit your alcohol consumption to 1-2 glasses a day.

Steve,
I just gotten to the same issues you have. I lost my right kidney to cancer and my left is not working like it should. I have dry mouth bad so I’m drinking always. I drink Zero Gatorade, V8 diet Splash and water. I have not found any negative effects or information about any so I moving on. Try the V8 Splash it may work for you also.
Kind Regards, Joe
Vitamin water zero is sweetened with stevia, and so far Stevia hasn’t been lumped in with all of the other poisonous artificial sweeteners in Trials.
Body armour is a better choice. The zero calories is sweetened with stevia.
This article was very informative- learned alot.
I have diabetes and I’m just found out about it. Everything I read on the box’s has sugar in and the same as bread,
It’s to the point I hate to go shopping.
I get it…what has helped me is the Yuka app…you just scan food and cosmetics and it will tell you if there are harmful additives, too much sugar, salt, etc,… and healthy alternatives for whatever you’re looking to buy…when something touted as organic and super healthy fails the yuka test, I am SO disappointed in these companies. Ultimately I decided it was better to know than not know and THINK I am eating and dringking good things for my body…!!! Best Wishes!
Splenda / Stevia is the only known vegetable sweeter that is 0-1 calories, does NOT induce an Insulin response as does sugar in ANY form, tastes cooks and bakes like sugar, and it is NOT an artificial sweetener loaded with chemicals. Store brands of this sweetener are the same product, costing less, and yes, due to increased use prices have actually fallen over the years.
i wound up seeing a dietician after surgery, at least now i dont have to dread going to the grocery. my guy the same thing cant have anything acidic, had gallstones, fun stuff….
What is the 10 drinks? I’m on dialysis and I have to watch my sugar & salt intake. It’s hard because they are in everything you eat
I juice my own fruit. I never buy fruit juice from the supermarket. I juice apples, oranges, pineapples, watermelon, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, etc.
Everyone is different, all these articles try to put people all in the same slot.
Good example, there #1 Soda.
I have drank soda since I was 14 years old, now 82 and still working a full time job. I drink from 6 to 8 cans of Diet Pepsi every day (7 days a week), when younger I drank around 10 to 12 cans per day. Now I cut back due to cost. In the winter I drink 4 or 5 cups of coffee, work in a building that is on the chilly side. After work I have a couple of “Scotch and Waters”. Drink about a gallon of milk each week. That is my total intake of liquids, never drink just water. By the people writing these articles I should have died years ago.
I don’t eat healthy, I eat what I want, when I want. Don’t exercise, outside of working.
MY GOD, CANT DRINK ANYTHING!!
