Around 36 million Americans have the flu at least once a year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Plenty of health experts believe there’s a high chance of going through a “twindemic” with high infection rates of COVID-19 and seasonal flu at the same time.

If that’s the case, there has never been a better time to get your booster shot and the flu shot. If you want to bolster your immune system before the virus season, get the flu shot.

That and frequent handwashing are the best defenses against suffering from a highly contagious and frustrating infectious disease. The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases has recently released the results from the summer survey.

As it turns out, 49% of American adults want to get a flu vaccine throughout the 2023–2024 flu season. Moreover, the CDC recommends that everyone who’s over 6 months old get an annual flu shot.

You’re not only protecting your health but also the health of those around you. And since there’s no such thing as too much information on the matter, we decided to tackle another important subject: what to eat before and after you have the flu shot!
