2. Constant fatigue and sleepiness
Everyone feels tired from time to time, but feeling tired constantly is not good. It is normal to feel tired after a hard day at work or after a long day, but it is unusual to feel drained of energy after a good night’s sleep or after a relaxing day.
High blood sugar levels, as well as both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, are frequently accompanied by fatigue. Still, because there are so many other causes of fatigue, it is hard to determine exactly why it appears in diabetes.
One cause might be insulin resistance, which is also one of the prediabetes signs. Fatigue may also result from fluctuating blood sugar levels, particularly if hyperglycemia episodes are frequent.
