They can boost kidney health
Who would have thought that bananas could boost kidney health? I haven’t, and yet, they do, due to their potassium content. Potassium is also essential for healthy kidney function. Therefore, bananas could be your next kidney-friendly snack, and we even have studies that back that up.
A 13-year study concluded that people who tend to eat bananas at least two times a week could be 33 percent less likely to develop kidney disease. Another study pointed out that people who eat this healthy fruit more than four times a week could be 50 percent less likely to develop kidney disease than those who tend to avoid bananas.

Very informative and helpful. I had no idea how beneficial bananas were. I plan to eat them much more often now.
just wish they wouldn’t ripen so fast then they are full of sugar how can that be good for you ?
actually,, the browner they are. the more fully they are potent. I know, counter intuitive right?
Don’t know what you mean by ‘fully potent they are’ but as they ripen sugar shoots up! Brown is tasty but sugar is through the roof!
You can peel them, cut them in small pieces and freeze them. They can later be used in smoothies with apple cider and frozen blueberries.
That’s exactly what I do when I can’t eat them before they start to get over ripe.
They are bad for diabetes according to my doctor
My doctor said the greener they are the better the time for you to eat them. Once they turn all yellow and start getting brown spots the more sugar they have so to not eat them.
I understanding what you are saying. However, ask your doctor what is the specific cure for diabetes and not just addressing the symptoms with the no aftermath side effects.
Your doctor may not be up on the latest findings and the article says less ripe is good for diabetes.
There are more good things in Bananas than very small amount of sugar.
People confuse fruit with sugar. Fruit is natural and is used entirely differently…sugar is NOT !
If you refrigerate them in plastic bag they do not ripen for a long time even though the skin turns brown
I have kept for 2 wks & not ripened 👍
I buy green bananas and slice them and put them into freezer bags to retain the benefits of green bananas. I hope that this helps.
Vitamin C and potassium in bananas.
Yes, super fast! Want to know why?
These conglomerates, in order to get the fruit to store not over ripe, pick the fruit Way Before it’s ripe.
Then it gets ‘Irradiated’ to ripen.
That’s why it goes from Green to Brown in 2 days! Not Normal.
Pineapple 🍍 is the same!
this is a fantastic article; very informative I am definitely going to consume more unripe bananas
Great cover on bananas! Eat at least one of the day m-sometimes, one and a half.
Thank you
I did know that bananas is good for you…but didn’t know that bananas are that good for us to eat every day ….thank you for sharing 🙏💕 Joann 💕
Avery important banana positive is that when they start to turn brown just unskin them, cut in bite size pieces, put in a freezer bag and freeze…They will last for months without turning brown…They will defrost in minutes or just add to milk and eat…
Great article. I didn’t know tou shouldeat green bananas. I eat ripe bananas almost daily.
Thank you so much about the article of eating unripe bananas and its benefits. I’ve been eating unripe bananas since I was a child and I love it. Now I know why I never gained weight. I will pass this information to all my friends . I’m 70yrs old and I wear small sizes and 5’5 height
I learned more about bananas than I ever knew from this very informative article. I really only knew that they were a good source of potassium. They have now become an important part of my diet due to this outstanding article.

Me too. I knew about the potassium, and knew they have more sugar when the get overripe, but I sure didn’t know about the green ones. I love to make peanut butter banana smoothies with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a few spinach leaves, and chia or flax seeds.
It’s good, give it a try!
It would be helpful to define what an unripe banana looks like (how much green etc). Otherwise, very helpful content.
Good grief.
If bananas help regulate sugar levels why every time I eat bananas my sugar goes up please explain!!!!
That would be a question for your Primary doctor
You may be eating the ripe ones but it shouldn’t hurt you. Sugar varies very much from hour to hour. Anytime you test sugar right after you eat, it probably will be higher.
Exactly! The Diabetes Expert I know says Bananas spike Sugar big time.
Green bananas do have the least sugar! If they are turning yellow, the sugar is spiking up quickly. If you’re concerned about the sugar, stay away from yellow and brown bananas 🍌!
Good to know,I discover more about it, very helpful
Unripe bananas taste like mulched cardboard.
I agree with Pam what is considered an unripe banana? How much green?
Bananas are a super good.
But not the best when kept in the refrigerator, it makes them gummy but still good 😊.
I have a horrible reaction to bananas which are nausea, cold sweat.

Interesting.
I think an unripe banana is good as long as i can peel it. Thank you for the very informative article about bananas. I look forword to many more type articles.
Practically no ‘MD’ Doctors are aware of or will tell you there is a ‘cure’ for Diabetes! They are not taught this in the Rockafeller Schools of Medicine. Most all will say ‘it can only be controlled. Learn to live with it’.
