Even if you don’t consume more than 1 or 2 cups of coffee during the day if you drink it late in the afternoon, your brain is going to be alert, so you’ll have a hard time falling asleep.

  • idiopathic hypersomnia: people who have this type of sleep disorder experience difficulty waking up in the morning and even after mid-day naps. Moreover, they might also feel tired during the day and fall asleep unexpectedly;
  • circadian rhythm sleep disorders: this can change your circadian rhythm and lead to sleep problems that affect your daily activities and tasks, like working;
  • narcolepsy: this sleep disorder will interfere with your sleep quality during the night, which will therefore cause extreme sleepiness during the day. If you suffer from this, you might wake up and think that you’re ready for the day, but if you end up falling asleep right after;
  • obstructive sleep apnea: can cause your breath to stop for a moment or become shallow, and you’ll feel groggy in the morning.

6. Sleep debt

If you don’t meet your body’s sleep needs, you’ll feel like you can’t wake up. You surely know that adults should get at least 7 hours of good sleep per night, so they can feel energetic, ready to tackle their days, and happy.

However, if you’re constantly missing important hours of sleep due to work, stress, taking care of your grandchildren, anxiety, or any other reasons you might have, you’ll be in a sleep debt sooner or later. You can easily solve this problem by making sure you hit the recommended sleep hours every night. You’ll feel more energized, focused, and refreshed in a couple of days or weeks, depending on how much rest your body needs

Depression is a mental disorder that involves a major loss of pleasure or lack of interest in activities.
